There is no way to use the saved snippet in other app directly. But if you use iOS 4, you can use it by Fast App Switching.
Just released version of PowerSnippet 2.0 supports FAS.

Please explain how to use Power Snippet’s built-in composer. Can I access the saved snippets without leaving the application (mail, calendar, etc)?

When you backed up your snippets by email, you have to post the snippets to any HTTP server.
After that, you can restore your snippets from the URL(Site Address) of that server.
